The people suggesting Melodyne seem to have never seen AutoTune in use. Melodyne is not a replacement for AutoTune, and was never intended to be used like AutoTune.Ĭubase Pro (for example) has a Pitch Correct Plug-in which works similarly to AutoTune.
Melodyne (ARA) function more like Offline FX. On (for example) Pro Tools HDX systems in Recording Studios, there is practically no perceptible latency. You can put it on a live signal and it will pitch correct in real time.
Why AutoTune became as popular, is because it's an Input FX. Studio One partnered with Celemony because it's easier to partner and bundle than develop your own. Pro Tools Elastic Audio (Elastic Pitch).
